my taxes aren’t on file for the irs and i haven’t received my tax return, what can i do to fix this?

i haven’t received my tax return since i filed, i called the irs and they said they had nothing filed under my 2024 tax return. i’m just wondering what i need to do to get it on file with the irs and when i can receive my tax return.

Did you efile or mail it? If you efiled was it Accepted? When you efile you get back 2 emails. The first email only confirms the transmission. The second email says if the IRS (or state) Accepted or Rejected your efile. Check back though your emails and spam/junk folder.

When you log into your account you should also see the status and if it was Accepted or Rejected, Started, Printed, Ready to Mail, etc. What does it say?

If your account says Printed or Ready to Mail that means you have to actually print out your tax return and mail it to the IRS yourself. So it has not been filed yet. And it will always say Ready to Mail. Turbo Tax doesn’t know if or when you mailed it and the IRS doesn’t update Turbo Tax when they get your mailed return.
