My friend files with TurboTax and has a acceptance before January 28th, what taking mine so long?

The IRS states that most refunds are received within 21 days from the time a return has been accepted. Once your Federal return has been accepted please, wait 24 hours before looking it up at the IRS Where is my refund? site.

Please note: The IRS will not start processing returns until January 27, 2020. Some returns will be processed up to a week prior to this date for testing purposes. If your return is among those that the IRS processes early, your tax refund will not be processed until January 27.
