I assume you used the Desktop installed program? On Windows?
See this post (scroll down) he found his files in the Administrator account
Don't know if this will help any Turbo Tax users but one Quicken user found them......
What I found was that my Quicken Data files ended up in the One-drive Recycle bin. Not sure how, but I found them there. I placed the files back onto the laptop and brought the files into Quicken and now have all my data back.
Your tax return file ends in .tax2018, .tax2019, .tax2020 etc. Search your computer for it. Check the Recycle Bin or Trash. Check in One Drive, etc. it should be in your Documents then in the Turbo Tax folder. Check your backups.
How to show the file extension in Windows

what do you mean lost? if you are using a desktop version there is the original return and a backup that starts with a ~. here's how to find it if it still exists. this link is for 2019 so substitute 2020. however, if your hard drive failed the file is probably not recoverable. there is no online backup
if you're using online the file is there. you may have signed into the wrong a/c. many taxpayers have multiple accounts. use the a/c recovery tool.
