Mistakely file 1040 instead of 1040NR

I am currently in California state from July 2023 on J1 Intern visa. This is my 2nd visit to USA. First visit was from Jan 2022 to June 2022 on F1 student visa.

According to IRS Website, J1 or F1 holders who are stayed US for less than 5 years are non-resident alien.

I have filed 1040 last week, using turbo tax and that time.

I am not sure whether I have to file 1040NR using Sprintax program which is for NR alien and also 1040-W form for amend my 1040 form.

Because it was just filed few days ago, and still pending by IRS and CA status, and still pending on Turbotax app.

So I am wondering that I just file 1040-NR again and just ignore the 1040,

or Do I have to file both 1040-NR and 1040-W so that the previous form will not be conflicted.

I ask to live help by Turbotax, but consultant said that only way is just wait for rejection by IRS, and after that, do 1040-NR form before april.

But I am still don't understand why I have to wait unless still pending status.

Please can you let me know whether I have to wait till IRS will reject my 1040 and do 1040-NR form again.

Thank you.

Mistakely file 1040 instead of 1040NR

TurboTax does not handle the 1040-NR. You will need to contact Sprintax.com for help in filing the 1040-NR.  They will be able to direct you on what you need to do to fix this situation.
