After waiting for over a year for a refund for my deceased mother's filing, ( I am executor), I received a check with my last name misspelled. The bank refuses to deposit it into the estate account because of the misspelling.
What to do???

if the teller is being an idiot and refuses ask to speak to an officer at the bank.
I did go to the bank and both the teller and manager said that since it is a government check, it would be thrown back ..

Have you tried depositing the check in your personal account?
Clients (as well as friends) over the years have had to do just that as a result of the estate accounts having been closed; they did not have any issues (although, admittedly, their names were not misspelled).
