Do you have a TurboTax Online account?

We'll help you get started or pick up where you left off.

It's been 6 weeks since I filed my tax return but we haven't received it yet. Can someone help me?

I elected for direct deposit. I've had my bank check to make sure it wasn't returned but nothing has been presented to my account and I haven't received anything in the mail.

I'm sorry to hear that. I would advise you to simply go to Irs.gov and type in Where's My Refund in the search engine in the upper Right Hand Corner. This website will give you the most up to date information on your Return.

If you elected to have your Refund directly deposited, If the Account and Routing Numbers were entered correctly then the Funds will be deposited when they post to your account. However if the Account and/or Routing numbers were entered incorrectly the Bank will reject your return and send it back to the Irs, who in turn sends you a Paper Check.

I hope this information helps you with your question.

It's been the same for me and all it says on the IRS page is that it's still being processed. Why is it taking so long to process

After the tax return has been Accepted by the IRS (meaning only that they received the return) it will be in the Processing mode until the tax refund has been Approved and then an Issue Date will be available on the IRS website.
See this IRS website for federal tax refund FAQ's - https://www.irs.gov/refunds/tax-season-refund-frequently-asked-questions
If over 21 days since being Accepted by the IRS and the tax refund is still Processing you can call the IRS and speak with an IRS agent concerning your tax refund.
Call the IRS: 1-800-829-1040 hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Monday-Friday
When calling the IRS do NOT choose the first option re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.
So after first choosing your language, then do NOT choose Option 1 (refund info). Choose option 2 for "personal income tax" instead.
Then press 1 for "form, tax history, or payment".
Then press 3 "for all other questions."
Then press 2 "for all other questions."
- When it asks you to enter your SSN or EIN to access your account information, don't enter anything.
- After it asks twice, you will get another menu.
Then press 4 for personal or individual tax questions.
It should then transfer you to an agent.

It's been the same for me as well. I filed my taxes on 03/04/2020, electronically and opted for direct deposit. They were accepted by the IRS on 03/05/2020 and that's as far as it's gotten. Where's my Refund just tells me my tax return is still being processed. Then yesterday I went online to check the status of my Stimulus payment and saw that it was sent to a checking account that isn't mine. I have no idea where they got the last 4 digits of the checking account number they sent my stimulus check to. No live person at the IRS, limited info or the same info online, so it's like I was left hanging.
