If you are mailing a tax return you have to sign it in ink. Why is it incorrect?
Hi,
This is about 2018 tax return which I need to send to Illinois state as a proof that I paid taxes in NJ in 2018. When I download a copy of my 2018 filed tax return from Turbotax, the signature line is empty since I e-signed when I filed my taxes in 2018.
Should I send the copy to Illinois IRS without sign OR sign it with todays date. I don't know if any of these options are correct.
I need to sign a document from last year so the IRS can process my taxes
So that we can better assist you can you clarify what document that you are needing to sign and send to the IRS. Thank you.
