Received notice with code 290

What kind of notice? From whom? State? Federal?

I have received CP22A notice from Federal. The amount i received as a refund earlier now i need to pay back. I am not sure why this happen?

IRS Transcript Code 290 = Additional tax as a result of an adjustment

But what additional tax? I have received refund earlier now they asking to pay it back.

They will be sending you a letter. If not, call the number in the CP22A notice.

When code 290 is on transcript do that mean you getting a refund I didn’t get the school credit the 1st time they told me to send in form 8863
