As already explained in a different thread to which you posted, it will take several weeks for the IRS to send you a letter of explanation if the IRS reduced your refund. Your federal refund could have been reduced by the IRS if you owed back taxes, child support, or had some other sort of mistake on your federal return, and the letter will explain that. Meanwhile.....you need to look at the IRS refund site and see if the refund site says they issued the amount from line 35a of your Form 1040 to you -- or if they issued a lower amount. Nowhere in any of your multiple posts have you mentioned actually looking at the IRS site to see what the site says.
You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount (line 35a of your 2022 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:
xmasbaby0 You do not need to respond to anything I post if it offends you because you sound offended. I did get a IRS letter only 2 lines telling me they sent me $81 and zero explanation why a short partial payment. No explanation at all. I have done all you suggested and more and still no explanation for the huge deduction. The IRS Refund site states the $81 refund was sent which I got. But initially when I inquire I put the $1947 on the IRS Refund site that is accepted and they they pop up the $81 that they refunded. Turbo Tax must warn their clients against selecting the button that allow the fees to be removed from the Fed Tax refund this is what created this serious issue and everyone that has had a short payment selected this option. That is what should be addressed .
The IRS reduced your refund. The IRS reducing your refund has nothing to do with your choice to use the third party bank to pay your TurboTax fees. You can clearly see on the IRS site that the IRS reduced your refund. So---the IRS has some other reason completely unrelated to the choices you made when you used TurboTax. Either you made a mistake in the information you entered into the tax return, or you owed child support or back taxes that caused the IRS to offset your refund. The third party bank does not have your refund. The IRS kept/disallowed most of your refund.
