The IRS will begin to accept/reject e-files on January 24.   Watch your emails.

When you e-file your federal return you will receive two emails from TurboTax.  The first one will say that your return was submitted.  The second email will tell you if your federal return was accepted or rejected.  If you e-filed a state return, there will be a third email to tell you if the state accepted or rejected your state return.

The IRS starts accepting returns on Monday 1/24. Since not all forms have been completed for release by IRS, some forms are not ready yet and could be affecting your return.  The IRS starts with the most common form changes and proceeds from there.

Yeah...that progress bar still has last year's month/day on it.

.......the "accepted" date was just an expected date depending on when it ends up actually being pulled, by the IRS, out of the huge mass of stored tax returns, your own progress bar isn't anywhere near it yet anyhow is it?
