IRA Accidentally Filed Instead of 401(K)

Hello,

I filed, submitted, and had my returns accepted, only to realize after the fact that I had submitted my retirements contributions as IRA contributions, when in fact my retirement plan is actually a 401(K). Will I have to edit or refile my taxes?

Thank you,

Richard Marek

Yes, if you entered your 401(k) contributions as IRA contributions, you will need to file an amended tax return to make the correction.
