My tax return keeps getting saved as a text file instead of pdf. I don't see where I can change this?

In one of my browsers (Edge) my former year PDF downloads as a file with a  ".txt" file.  I just changed the ".txt" to ".pdf" after I downloaded it  then adobe opens the file just fine.  Or change browsers to download it and see what happens with that other browser.

( I am not referring to the ".taxyyyy" datafile for any year...just the main Supposed To Be a PDF download that may happen to downlaod wuith a ".txt" extension (due to some bug or other not yet figured out....)

that sounds like a really good idea, how do I do that?? I see where I can rename it  its taxes 2018 right now, I can change that but I don't see where I can get to the .txt part

..aahhh you have your system set to not show the extensions on the files?   You shouldn't hide them...ever  (opinion)

Follow this to turn them on, and leave them on:  <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PoTah9YBG2Y">https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PoTah9YBG2Y</a>

Then rt-click on the problem file...select "rename" from the pop-up menu, and hi-lite the "txt" and change it to "pdf".  Be careful to NOT remove the period "." before the .txt

you are a genius!! i will do that! downloading it on firefox insead of edge fixed the problem but i will do the other any ways.  thank you so much!!!
