Is it legal for turbotax experts to lie about your tax filings? I was told by at least 6 experts that my tax forms were sent directly to the irs..And was also given a fake submission id number.. I was forced to sit and wait o phone 3 hours to speak with the irs..To have them tell me they don't have my forms..Instead of telling me that they are holding my taxes on their server.. The experts continued to tell me that the irs has possession of my taxes.. And repeatedly telling me that my forms are there just wait 24 hours.. Since I have found out the truth.. Is it a crime to give me false id numbers? And lie about the whereabouts of my forms?

Now I'm only trying to let this community hear the flipside of all of the love and greatness..Do you think that people should not hear about the undesirable actions of turbotax?
If you are talking about a 2024 tax return you just recently filed.
I suspect that some of these TTX folks may misunderstand that the file is being held on the TTX servers, until the IRS actually accesses them later this month (or early Feb....they can't take that huge pile waiting, all at once).
AND NO, you cannot get that file back once you submitted it to the server.
1) You prepare and e-file your tax return (hit the Transmit Now button)
2) It goes to the TTX server.....and sits, waiting for the IRS computers to access it. (this works the same on any software provider's system).
3) the IRS, when it's ready, starts pulling in a limited number of tax files, randomly from ALL the software provider's storage systems......a small number to start, and many more as time goes by and they are sure they won't crash their own computers.
4) The IRS computers, then do a cursory check of each file they just pulled in, and either Accept it, or Reject it for some reason.
5) If accepted, and a refund is warranted, they usually issue it within 2-3 weeks.
6) Months later, the IRS computers do a full check of ALL the information they have and if there's a problem, they send you a letter, indicating the problem, and requesting a response. (as a wild guess, 1 in 10,000 submissions?

In this community, we constantly tell folks to NOT file their taxes until early February...no earlier!
March is safer.
