If you have e-filed your tax return for 2017, you will need to amend your return to add or correct information on a 1099-MISC.

However, if you have not completed the e-file process, you can either add or correct the 1099-MISC prior to filing.

To add or correct, return to Federal, Wages and Income.  Select either the Self-Employed or Other Common Income to add or correct the 1099-MISC.  Depending on why and the type of income will determine which part of the program this 1099-MISC needs to be entered.  If this is income from a business where you have expenses to offset, you will enter in the Self-Employed.  If the income is additional income not part of your normal employment with no expenses, include in Other Common Income.

If you need to amend your return, follow these instructions:

Open this TurboTax link and follow the instructions to amend your tax return.

https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/1894381-how-to-amend-change-or-correct-a-return-you-already-filed

You will need to wait until the IRS finalizes your original return and you receive your refund or they have processed your payment.

You will mail your amended return to the IRS.  They do not accept electronic amendments
