If you forgot to add a tax document or income, you can amend your return to include it. But, you need to wait to see if the tax return you file is accepted or rejected by the IRS.  If it is rejected, you will be able to add your unemployment information to the return before you correct any other errors and resubmit it.  If it is accepted, you will wait to receive any refund if you are due one, and then you can amend your return to include the unemployment information.  An amended return can only be filed by mail as the IRS doesn't allow e-filing for them, so you will have to print it and mail it in order to file it.  If you are due any refund from the amended return it will arrive separately in the form of a paper check.

Please see the following TurboTax FAQ for instructions on how to amend your 2016 tax return in TurboTax.
