3 - w-2's yes. but just one job as self-employed then no.

@ jane19977  asked:  " If I had 3 jobs in the past year, is that considered a simple tax return?"

The number of W-2 jobs (i.e., as an employee) won't matter.  It depends on "what else" is in your return, as I'll explain below.   As Champ @ Mike9241 mentioned above, if any of these are self-employed jobs (independent contractor, etc.), then that is not a simple tax return.

I presume you are asking because of the special promo for free return preparation and filing of "simple tax returns only" until 3/31/2022, if using Free Edition, Live Basic, or Live Full Service Basic..   I've provided info below as to how TurboTax defines "simple tax return."

NOTE:   Be aware that if you don't file by 3/31/2022, you will be charged if you are using Live Basic or Live Full Service Basic at the prevailing rate for that product if you continue to file with one of them.

The following is pasted from the TurboTax products page and outlines what TurboTax refers to as a "simple tax return", and also lists what is not included in that definition.

You can file with TurboTax Free Edition, TurboTax Live Basic, or TurboTax Live Full Service Basic if you have a simple tax return.*

*A simple tax return is Form 1040 only.
