I was paid $5,000.00 for helping a friend with remodel work. Do I declare this as income somewhere? I am not a professional, this was just money for some labor?

When someone pays you for services rendered, its considered self employment income.

Yes, you are required to report all income from all sources that you received in the tax year. In your case, the IRS consideres that $5K to be self-employment income, unless the person who paid it to you issued you a W-2 for that money.

So you will have to file a SCH C as a part of your personal tax return. For that, you will have to upgrade to the online version of Premier. You will not be able to claim any business expenses either. If you have valid business expenses to claim and want to claim them, then you will have to upgrade to TurboTax Self-Employed.
