It might take longer.....the IRS just began to accept/reject returns on Monday, January 29 and there were millions of e-files piled up on servers. Sit tight and wait for an email telling you if your return has now been accepted or rejected.
it sure doesn't take them long to reject it though
Same here. Check to see if you got an email about a 48 hr hold by Turbo Tax for any reason.
This has happened to me before and is happening again
I've been in contact with them today and they said give an additional two days because the IRS has not pulled it yet. it just annoys me a little bit as all information say 24 to 48 Hours.. I did not receive any notification about a hold.
Sorry, but the 24-48 hrs is really only during the main part of the tax season....usually first-or-second week of February onward...the first week-to-10 days can be much slower. Some get lucky and theirs gets pulled right away.
The IRS has control (well, their computers) and pulls random groups of files from all the Software providers....but only what their computers can handle without crashing.
Because of that randomness, some folks have friends who waited to file until right after the IRS started.....and their files get accepted BEFORE someone who had filed in early January. It's not First-in-First-out.
