I want to do my 2016 taxes. but all it is giving me is the option to do my 2015 taxes

The online product of TurboTax for 2016 is not open yet. It should be available by mid December. You can buy and use the CD/download product now. Here is a link to track or buy each type of product: https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/online/.

Is mid-December the latest prediction from TT?  (Others have said early December, or the first full week in December.)

As for far as I know TT has not said when it will be available. I've said early December in some of my responses and by mid December in some others. Since we don't know it's anybody's guess.
