I've used TurboTax 2022 to amend my return, yet it didn't produce a 1040-X form. Do I need that in addition to my amended 1040?

Sounds like you messed up if you do not have a 1040X.    If you amended correctly you would have a Form 1040X to submit to the IRS.   Did you just go into the software and start changing things on your original tax return?  If you did that, put them back to the way they were originally.    In order to amend a 2022 return, you need to use the desktop download software on a full PC or Mac.   To amend a return that you already filed, you have to go to Other Tax Situations>Other Tax Forms>Amend a Return

Do not expect quick results from amending. It can take four months or more for the IRS to process an amended return.
