I've always used TurboTax to file my taxes. My 2021 hard copy is lost. I can't find my taxes on my computer or on TurboTax. I need to amend. Any suggestions

If you used the desktop CD/Download editions installed on your computer, the only copy of your tax data file and any PDF's will be on the computer where the return was created.  TurboTax does not store online any returns completed using the desktop editions.

All saved tax data files and any PDF's saved should have been in the Documents directory and in the TurboTax folder on your computer's hard drive.

You can a free transcript of the federal tax return using this IRS website - https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript

For a fee of $30 you can get a complete federal tax return from the IRS by completing Form 4506 - http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f4506.pdf

It's too late to get a refund for 2021. If you are amending your 2021 tax return to get an additional refund you can file the amended return, but you will not get the refund.

TurboTax desktop software for 2021 is no longer supported. If you have it installed on your computer it will still work, but you cannot install it now.

If you have a working installation of the 2021 TurboTax software, but you do not have the .tax2021 data file for your tax return, you could recreate the tax return using a transcript or copy that you get from the IRS. Then you could use the recreated return as the starting point for preparing an amended return.

If you do not have a working installation of the 2021 TurboTax software, you might be able to get software for 2021 from another tax software company. You would then have to start by recreating your original 2021 tax return with the new software. Or you could go to a local tax professional to prepare an amended return for you.
