I used turbo tax for amended return in 2020 and paid for assistance with that amendment. still have not received the refund and I don't know how to find the status.

Did you use a tracking service from the US Post Office so that you would have proof it was received by the IRS?

That would help, but even in those cases with what is going on at the IRS there is good possibility that it has been lost.  They had millions of 2019 and 2020 paper tax returns stored in trailers they were so far behind.

Your only option is to mail another amended return and attach a statement that this is a duplicate of a filed return because the IRS cannot locate the original.

I can't find the tax return in the turbo tax ui. Its bare bones until I start my taxes for this yr and pay for a product, I can't even find my older tax returns or the amendments. All it says it get started on this years returns. Help says:

If you started a 2021 tax return using the exact same User ID you used for the 2020 tax return and have entered some personal information on the 2021 return and are accessing the 2021 online tax return, click on Tax Home on the left side of the program screen.

Scroll down to the section Your tax returns & documents.  Click on the Year and Click on Download/print return (PDF)

There's no Tax Home or Documents on the left for me. But when I log it it says Thanks for doing 6 years of tax returns with Turbo Tax, now let's get started on this year., then lands me on a page with my info to get started.

Then start a 2021 tax return if you have no already started one.  Once you have entered some personal information on the return you can sign out.  Click on Sign Out at the bottom left of the online program.

Then sign back onto the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/

If there are no tax years listed under Your tax returns & documents then you did not start the 2021 account with the same User ID you used for the prior year tax returns.

You have to sign onto your online account using the exact same User ID you used to create the online account.

Close all TurboTax windows on your web browser (including this one).  Copy and paste the account recovery website link onto a new web browser window and run the tool.

Use this TurboTax account recovery website to get a list of all the User ID's for an email address.  Run the tool against any email addresses you may have used - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/account-recovery

If none of the user ID's received will access your account, then use the option shown in blue on the account recovery website, "Try something else"

The Tax documents section only become visible to me after I fully started another return for this yr and signed an agreement for being shown offers. After that I could finally access Tax Documents from previous years. It really shouldn't be like that should it?
