Expecting a refund, when to file an amendment?

I mistakenly did not report 1099-G (state tax refund), and now I need to amend. I e-filed my federal tax and the status is "accepted". I have not received my refund yet. Due to the change, I should receive ~$150 less than what I originally claimed for the refund. Should I amend now, or should I wait till IRS contacts me/processes my refund?

Wait until your first return has been processed by the IRS. If you're amending to claim more money, the IRS says to wait until you've received your original refund before filing an amendment.

Once you've received your original refund, feel free to cash or spend it while your amendment gets processed (this can take 12–16 weeks).

Three weeks after you mailed your amendment, you can start tracking its progress at the IRS Where's My Amended Return? site.

I think I was not clear. I originally asked for a $2050 refund. Now, after I recalculated the amount, the refund is $1900. I am not claiming more money. I should be receiving less money compare to what I claimed. Should I Amend now? Or wait until they process it?

Did you get the $2,050 from your originally filed return? If not, wait until you receive it then turn mail the amended return with $150 to the U.S. Treasury (IRS).
