I submitted my Federal and State Taxes on January 16th, but my Maryland still says Pending. Why haven't they been filed with the state yet?

Because Maryland is not accepting tax returns until January 28, 2019.

The IRS isn't processing returns until that date either, but they have pulled some returns for test processing.

Please check again after January 28.
