I recieved an email stating that i have to update my direct deposit info, by midnight tonight. i did change to a new bank account two months ago..is this safe?

It IS a legitimate email from TurboTax. And the deadline for updating your banking information is today. See the TurboTax FAQ I'm linking below for instructions on how to proceed.
