I printed out my tax return to be mailed in but I made a mistake on it, can I correct it with a pen

You don't want to make a correction with a pen.  But as long as you haven't yet mailed your return.  The info linked below will contain instructions to re-open your return so you can make the corrections you need to make.  Then you can go through the FILE portion again, and again select "Print for Mailing".

Yes, you can correct your printed copy by pen, however, it would be better if you corrected it in TurboTax, that way the data will be correct if you need to access it in the future.
