You never file until you have all of your tax forms.
Some tax form types may not come until mid-late Feb.
1099-R forms should be ready now, but if it was sent in the mail, it might be another week until you get it....but even then, most providers will have it as a PDF you can download from your Online account at that provider...so you don't usually have to wait for the mail to deliver it.
I already filed last week. Now in the mail I just received 4 1099 forms about income from Freedom Debt Relief.
Do I have to refile this year? or can I wait to file next year???
IF you've already filed your taxes, and they were accepted....THEN
Yep...you have to amend your 2019 tax file. No big rush. IF you were getting a refund, you have to wait for that the be received (Both Fed and state)….or fi you owed when you e-filed, then you have to get that paid (both Federal and state)..before you start an amended tax file for 2019 to add in those 2019 1099-xxxx forms (you never said what KIND of 1099 form was involved). The initial filing you've done already cannot be stopped.
When done with the special Amendment process, you must print out the forms and mail them in yourself...no e-filing of amendments is allowed. Follow the 2019 amendment process here...:
