I need to amend my 2017return. I was told that I can add the PMI paid in 2017, but need to wait until TurboTax software is updated. Had it been updated to file for PMI???

Yes, you can now add PMI in the software. The IRS recommends that you wait until your original return has processed and you have received the refund (or paid taxes due) before you amend.
