I got to the form I want to edit, highlighted the cell (became blue) and tried to edit. But I couldn't. Any other way for editing or did I miss any step(s)? Thanks.
Change must be made in the interview data input screens ... so if you have not filed the return yet what exactly are you trying to change ?
trying the same here
impossible to edit the forms directly
You can edit the worksheet entries . Press control-D to unlock the blue highlighted cell you selected.
I downloaded a file of stock transactions to TurboTax from a financial institution. The file contains 'transactions' (sales) that are not actually sales, and do not have entries for number of shares (not to mention strike prices of zero) so TurboTax wants them reviewed and they need to be deleted. How do I do that; the displayed file is not editable.
It's probably best to delete the download and enter a summary of those transactions, rather than try to edit each one in the imported file, if the file contains multiple transactions.
You could then import the rest of the transactions, if your broker account allows you to pick and choose what to import, or use the Sales Summary for those also.
In TurboTax Desktop, go to File > Remove Imported Data.
In TurboTax Online, in the left-side menu, go to Tax Tools > Tools, then 'Delete a Form' from the popup menu.
Info too old. Does not work on 2024 turbotax. everytime you hide the steering wheel and brake pedal you will cause us problems.
I need to edit form 8582 line 1c.
Tell me how as it relates to the 2024 platform
Same here. Called tech support, 3 people, no body could help. I need to edit form 8582 line 1c and it wont allow it.
4 years later, no improvement as edits are not permitted via a logical process
nope. wont work cause other data is imported on that form from other forms
Thanks MarilynG1. I will remember this if the problem recurs. As it turns out the update consisted of deleting some anomalous entries. I called the help line and spoke to Martin, and he talked me through it.
