I have to amenda a 2014 return. But the return was not previously filed using my 2014 Turbotax software. I have a paper copy. Is there a shortcut to 1040x in turbotax?

Couldn't I enter some existing data in the left-hand column of the 1040X and change the Schedule A info that is new?

Yes you can make direct data entry on the 1040X in the FORMS mode.
