That is certainly unfortunate... Sometimes reviews are random, sometimes they are for a specific reason. TurboTax does not receive any information from the IRS after your return has been accepted. TT cannot speed them up for you. If they ask for any further information from you, provide it promptly. You can call the IRS to ask about it:
To call the IRS:IRS: 800-829-1040 hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Mon-Fri
Listen to each menu before making the selection.
First choose your language. Press 1 for English.
Then do NOT choose the first choice re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.
Instead, press 2 for "personal income tax".
Then press 1 for "form, tax history, or payment".
Then press 3 "for all other questions."
Then press 2 "for all other questions." It should then transfer you to an agent.
I am unsure if this is what is happening to me as well. I electronically filed my returns on February 27th and received the "Great news" text that my returns had been approved by both federal and state. It took about a week longer to get the confirmation email (March 6th I received both of the emails) - my state refund has been direct deposited already (within a week of the email confirmation), but for some reason when I check the federal refund status it has changed from the 3 bar color coded (it said return received) , but now that "bar" is gone it just says that they are processing my return...it has said that for about 8 days now. People that mailed their returns after I electronically filed are getting their refunds already. Is anyone else running in to this problem? I see that there was "critical updates" to federal forms on Turbo Tax, but not sure they would affect my return or not. I am getting a little nervous that they are taking their time with my refund (filed married and joint and had the standard deduction)
Interesting fact....those of you that are still in the process of waiting for your refunds because they are "still processing" (like with mine) - They used 2018 tax return (even though they have my 2019 return!!!) - I received $800 less on the stimulus payment because I had a better year in 2018 than in 2019. I should not be complaining because at least I got a stimulus check, but because they are "still processing" it due to the Turbo Tax changes AFTER I filed, they used the 2018 return :(
