I have filed my taxes and later i found some info that I might have forgotten to enter. Can I reopen the form, at least for viewing, so I can see what I entered?

referring to 2024 federal and state returns

yes

  • 1. Sign In to TurboTax Online
  • 2. Click "My TurboTax" menu
  • 3. Press "Visit My Tax Timeline"
  • 4. Under the "SOME THINGS YOU CAN DO" heading, choose "Add a state" (you're not really adding a state, this allows you to get back into your return).

you should always save a copy of your return as a PDF to your computer. in three years Turbotax discontinues support for that year's application so you can no longer open the return.

Thanks for the really click reply! It was really helpful and I need just a bit more info -- when I log in I don't see anything about the Tax time line. Here is a screenshot what i see.  How do I get to see my tax time line? Their robot help system is pretty much useless as far as I can tell.1e1e5722-7169-46c3-a04a-cbb9f240a833.png

Online TurboTax no longer has a "My TurboTax" and label "Tax Timeline".  They changed to a new design a few years ago.

If you are at the Tax Home, you are already at the right page.  You may need to simply scroll way down further on that screen.   On that Tax Home page (your screenshot,) scroll way down while looking for a link "Add a State."  (That doesn't really add one; it just opens the return interview back up.)

If you don't see it, then near the bottom of that Tax Home page see if you can choose "Your Tax Returns & Documents".  Then choose tax year 2024.   Then see if you see "Add a State."

NOTE:  When you open up your return interview, do NOT make any changes in it.   If you end up needing to make any changes, you need to do it through a formal amending process, which is done an entirely different way and which must start off with your return in it's original as-filed condition.
