since you using online you can't. Turbotax will at some point issue an update to fix this issue. The IRS is not opening e-filing until about 1/21/24 so to really can't e-file at this time. All you would be doing is sending the return to sit on Turbotax servers until the IRS opens e-filing. A state return can not be e-filed before the Federal is accepted.

Also, only some WI forms are final...a whole bunch are not expected to be ready until 25 January.

Also, the IRS announced 29 January as their "Start" date.

While they may pull a few test forms earlier, there have ben instances where a major problem was found in the early tests, and the official start date gets delayed further.

Even if they do start on 29 Jan, the IRS computers can't handle them all at once....so it sometimes takes the whole first week to go thru the entire backlog of waiting submissions.
