Only the state tax agency will know what all they are doing with your
state return. Some states are quick with refunds, while others take a
long time--even weeks--as they crack down on fraudulent returns. Some states may be slower this year due to changes in the new Federal tax laws.
However, we can tell you some things to check.
If you efiled the state return, use the tool below to be sure the state return was successfully efiled and accepted:

If that confirms it was accepted, or if you mailed the state return, then here's how to check the status of a state refund.
TIP:
While you are at the state tax website, see if they have a notice or
FAQ on how long it usually takes to get a refund in your state and how
long to wait before calling them. Many have such a statement.
