i filed my return but realized i didn't include some documents . Can i do a corrected return

my federal tax return is pending, can i stop it from being filed until i make corrections

No. If you already have e-file and your return is in “Pending” status, you won't be able to make any changes. You must wait until the IRS accepts it or rejects it. 

If your return is rejected, you can go back to your account and update any information or add missing documents.

If the IRS has accepted the return, you may amend your return.
