I filed a amended state return in SC. I believe I scheduled a payment that I need to cancel.I have to mail I am pretty sure I scheduled a payment when amending

you can schedule a direct debit payment for Federal amendment Form 1040-X

If SC offers the same option then, you don't have to mail a check separately.

Note: Direct debit is available only when you e-File your amended return, and not when you mail it on paper.

I see that SC now uses SC-1040 for an amendment and that form has provision for direct debit of payments.

The implication is that will work when you paper file an amendment.
