Federal, state, or both?
Because of the Coronavirus situation, for the time being the IRS call centers are not taking calls for live assistance.
Is this your first time to check on it, or is there more to the story, such as previous attempts and what you were told?
First, make sure you successfully filed. If you used Online TurboTax, log into your account and at the Tax Home scroll down to the section "Your Tax Returns & Documents." Expand that section and choose tax year 2018. What is displayed about the 2018 Federal return and state return (if applicable)? i.e., which of these terms do you see--accepted, rejected, printed, started, ready to mail, or what?
