I cannot find the federal tax tab on my TurboTax screen?

If you are using the desktop (CD/Download) Turbotax software and are using the Deluxe or Premium version the Federal Taxes tab is located to the right of the Personal Info tab at the top of the screen.  If you are in the Home & Business version it is located under the Personal tab at the top of the screen.

In desktop Home and Business there is no Federal tax tab.   Use the PERSONAL tab instead.

Click on PERSONAL tab.

Then subtab OTHER TAX SITUATIONS.

Scroll down to "Other Return Info."
Then "Identity Protection PIN."

I have Turbotax 2019 Home & Business Desktop. There is no Federal Taxes tab. I've looked through every item under PERSONAL. Not there.

I cannot find the federal tax tab on my TurboTax screen?

@AllenJackArmstrong

Read the post from  @mesquitebean  above yours again.....

IN H&B...there is just a PERSONAL tab alone...there is nothing called "Federal" as a separate tab.

They do that in H&B to distinguish the mass of your Self-employment  Business data entries, as being separate from your regular "Personal" tax data entries.

(of course...it''s all federal..except for the State section.

I cannot find the federal tax tab on my TurboTax screen?

I have Turbo Tax 2019 desktop Home & Business. I need to use federal tax tab to report an excess contribution of my 2019 Tax Return without a Form 1099-R.  Can you tell me where I can find this federal tax tab? I searched all items on the screen but could not find it.

To report a taxable excess contribution to your retirement plan on your 2019 tax return in TurboTax Home and Business, try these instructions:

  • Click on Personal, then Personal Income in the top menu, then I will choose what I want to work on.
  • Under Your 2019 Income Summary, scroll down to Less Common Income
  • Select Miscellaneous Income and click Start
  • Select Other income not already reported on a Form W-2 or Form 1099 and click on Start
  • Click through the questions till you get to Other Earned Income
  • Answer Yes to Did you receive any other wages?
  • Click through the screens until you come to Enter Source of Other Earned Income
  • Indicate Other as Source of Other Earned Income and click Continue
  • For the description enter "2018 Excess Deferrals" and click on Done
