I amended my 2021 tax return but confused on why it’s being mailed to me and not into my bank account?

The IRS never makes a direct deposit for an amended tax return.   When you file a 1040X if you are getting a refund they will only mail you a check.

Why would they mail it if I efiled my amended return? How long does it take for them to process it and I receive the rest of my refund after it’s been accepted?

They only mail checks for refunds.  No Direct Deposit.

It says.....You will receive a check for any refund due to you. A refund on an amended return can’t be deposited directly to your bank account.

And it takes a long time to process amended returns.  At least 16 weeks of more.
