True.
It is not a "refund" of tax, it is a credit for the missing stimulus.
Please send the amended return to get that missing payment.
It is not applied to next year's return.
Please double-check your original return to make sure nothing was entered into Line 30 of your 1040 (page 2). If there is a credit amount on that line, then it was already on your original return and there would be no change on an amended return.
If there is not an amount on that line and you are qualified based on the requirements and your 2020 Adjusted Gross Income (AGI), then you must ensure you are entering the amount of stimulus payments you did receive to ensure that the credit calculates correctly.
Please follow the steps below:
Your Recovery Rebate Credit will be the difference between what you were qualified for on your 2020 tax return less the amount of your first and second stimulus payments you have already received.
If the Recovery Rebate Credit is still not showing, then please review the requirements below to ensure you, your spouse and your dependents (if applicable) do qualify to receive the stimulus payment.
To qualify, you must:
In addition, per the IRS, to be a qualifying child of an individual for purposes of the payment, generally the individual must live with the child for more than half of the tax year, the child must not provide over half of his or her own support for the calendar year, and the child must not file a joint return for the tax year. The child also must be the individual’s child, stepchild, eligible foster child, sibling, grandchild, niece, or nephew. In addition, to be claimed as a qualifying child, the child must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident or other qualifying resident alien. The child must be under the age of 17 at the end of the year for the tax return on which the IRS bases the payment. Also, a qualifying child must have an SSN valid for employment or an adoption taxpayer identification number (ATIN). A child who has an ITIN is not a qualifying child for this payment.

It says it will give me a $1800 tax credit and the IRS will double check it. So will it just not be a “return” and the IRS will give it to me later or does it go toward my return next year?
True.
It is not a "refund" of tax, it is a credit for the missing stimulus.
Please send the amended return to get that missing payment.
It is not applied to next year's return.
So it won’t show up on turbo tax but I will get it from the IRS?
You will need to look at your Form 1040. If you claimed the Recovery Rebate Credit, it will show up on Page 2, line 30 of your Form 1040 as the Recovery Rebate Credit. See the sample form below.
It would show up in TurboTax as long as you have entered based upon the input provided above.
In TurboTax, you can view your tax summary for your 2020 tax return by doing the following:
After you review the above items, simply select "Back" in the black panel to get back to the interview forms.
If it is not, you may need to review your entries in the Federal Review section to ensure you have entered both amounts or indicated you did not receive any payments. This credit is used to offset any existing tax liability so your refund may not be the exact amount of the credit. You would want to review that as well.
The return you prepare in TurboTax is filed with the IRS. They will reflect the same information unless the IRS has additional information and makes adjustments.
I didn’t change anything, but when I canceled the amendment and restarted it added the 1800 so thank you everyone!
I filed my taxes already but then my 1098-T came in the mail from my school after I filed so I amended my returns. My federal was accepted by my Ohio says ready to mail, what does that mean? Also it says I will be getting $1,800 because I didn’t receive the first two stimulus payments and I make well under $75,000 a year when should I be expecting to get all of my money back?
If you received your 1098-T form after filing your tax returns, you may want to amend your tax return as you may be entitled to an education credit on your federal tax return.
As for your state return, you will want to make sure it was electronically filed by following the steps below. If you determine it was not filed, you will need to submit those for filing as it sounds like they may not have been filed yet.
How to check your e-file status
As for the Recovery Rebate Credit that was calculated on your tax return, the amount refunded to you will depend upon your overall taxes due. If you still have tax due before taking the credit into consideration, you will get a refund for the amount of credit remaining after the tax due portion is deducted. If you do not have a tax due, your refund will include the credit portion.
See the following link for additional information on the credit and when it applies.

How do I start filing for the 2nd and 1st stimulas for my 2 grandchildren
How do i fill for the 1st and 2nd stimulas for my 2 grandkids.
If you claim them as a dependent on your 2020 tax return there is an opportunity to complete the Recovery Rebate credit which will allow you to claim the missing stimulus.
Stimulus payments were advances on the Recovery Rebate Credit.
If you received the full amount of both stimulus payments (Economic Impact Payments), you won’t get any additional credit on your return this year since you’ve already received the full amount of the credit as stimulus payments.
If you didn't receive the full amount for your first or second-round stimulus payments, we'll help you claim the Recovery Rebate Credit when you file your taxes this year.
We'll make sure you get the money you qualify for by double-checking the amount and quantity of stimulus payments you received.
Here’s how:
It’s important that you enter the correct amount of each stimulus payment you received. The first stimulus payments were made between April and September of last year, while the second round of payments were delivered during January and February. You can find the exact amount,

If we didn't receive a first round within the timeline stated (April - Nov 2020), but received on in January 2021 and one in March 2021, do I show both of those even though it says the 2nd round was from Dec to February?
