You can print your return, including Form 5695, and mail them in, but you shouldn't have to.

First, if you're using TurboTax Online, try clearing your browser's cache and deleting your cookies.  See the TurboTax Help articles How to clear your cache and How do I delete cookies? for guidance.

Then, if that doesn't remedy the issue, follow the steps below to enter your solar installation information in TurboTax Online.  If the same issue occurs, retrace these steps again, eliminating all of the information you've input, then re-input again.

  1. Open TurboTax Online
  2. Select Tax Home in the left pane
  3. On the  Hi, let's keep working on your taxes! screen, select the dropdown to the right of Deductions & Credits, then select Start, ReviewContinue, or Pick up where you left off
  4. Select  Start or Edit to the right of Home Energy Credits below Your tax breaks.  If it's not there, scroll down and select the dropdown to the right of Your Home, then select Start or Revisit to the right of Home Energy Credits
  5. On the  Energy Efficient Home Improvements page, select Yes in answer to the question, Did you make energy efficient saving improvements in 2024 or have a carryforward from 2023?
  6. Proceed through the following screens until you get to the Did you have any of these residential clean energy costs in 2024? page.
  7. Select the bullet next to Yes, we made these residential clean energy improvements, then select Continue
  8. On the  Enter Any Residential Clean Energy Improvements page, enter your expenses in the box next to Solar electric costs, then select Continue
  9. Continue through the screens until you get to the Your Home Energy Credit Summary page.  There, you'll see whether you've qualified for the credit.

If the TurboTax Online navigation described above doesn't look like what you're experiencing, see the TurboTax Help article Why does the TurboTax navigation menu look different for me?.
