Thank you for the response.
I do have an email from TurboTax that states "Your federal tax return was accepted by the IRS. You're officially finished filing your federal taxes – nicely done!"
...and another one received later that states "Your 2020 Federal Personal Extension has been approved!"
When I go to Tax Home in TurboTax it only shows my state tax was accepted, but I have emails and texts showing my federal was also accepted. Do I need to do anything to officially file?
Sorry for the confusing scenario.
No, you do not need to do anything else - you have an email from TurboTax that states "Your federal tax return was accepted by the IRS. You're officially finished filing your federal taxes – nicely done!"
A request for extension does not affect the tax return e-filing process, even if you get an email that an extension was approved.
Keep checking the IRS Where’s My Refund? site for a status on your return.
