How would I fix my tax return for the child tax credit part? I put the wrong amount and didn't know until I got the form from the IRS, is there a way besides to amend?

It says that I cannot amend it at this time because it is still processing, I shorted myself out of 1800. How should I go about this?

You cannot change anything on a return after you e-file it. And you cannot amend until the first return has been fully processed. If you made an incorrect entry about the child tax credit you received, the IRS will probably catch the mistake and correct it for you-----but it will take them extra time, so expect a delay in receiving your refund.
