How to save a return as a tax data file?

I am a TurboTax for Mac desktop user. I saved last year's return (2021) as a PDF. I want to import this return into the 2022 version of TurboTax. When doing so, I get an error message saying that the file size is too large to import. ALSO, I do not see a tax data file for the 2021 tax year anywhere on my computer. Is there a way to save last year's (2021) return (using last year's TurboTax) as a .tax (tax data) file? Please help, as I do not want to re-enter all of my data from scratch.

I have followed that link and done that search. There is NO tax data file on my Mac. 

Can I open up the TurboTax 2021 and resave the return as a .tax file?
