How to get Turbotax 2023 to print fed & state returns when the print order causes the software to lock up and fail, requiring force quit? E-filing 2023 not an option.

Is there a way to save the 2023 returns as PDFs?

To access your tax returns (current or prior year) you will sign into the TurboTax website with the user ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/

Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and on the section Your tax returns & documents click on Show.  Click on the Year and Click on Download/print return (PDF)

As an alternative for current year return, when you sign onto your online account and land on the Tax Home web page, scroll down and click on Add a State (You will not really be adding a state). 

This will take you back in to the 2024 online tax return.

Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the online program screen.  Find the Print Center and choose the year you want to print.  If you want your full return including worksheets, choose the option Include government and TurboTax worksheets.

I am using the desktop version, not the online version, so these directions don't work.  Shouldn't your software be able to save and print a return in progress w/o breaking?  Please provide other instructions or better software.

Here are instructions on how to get a PDF from TurboTax Desktop. Once you have the PDF, you can open the document and print from there.

Thanks for this response. It might have worked if the 2023 software I downloaded weren’t corrupted & crashing with every print or pdf command. Ultimately I found someone who advised me to uninstall the bad TurboTax-provided software, download and reinstall a new TurboTax package and restart the computer in order for print or pdf to work…. This bad software problem caused many hours of frustration and unsuccessful workaround efforts.
