Reset ammendment return

I started an ammendment and mistakenly deleted an item. How do I reset that form to the one I filed? I tried canceling the ammendment and restarting, but the form was still missing.

Can I restart a fresh ammendment from what I filed with IRS?

Then you have to manually take out or put back anything you changed to put your return back to the way it was when you originally filed it.

That is not efficient and error prone. The information is all in TurboTax, this is something which should be available in a tool like TurboTax.

That's why you need to save a copy of your original return before you amend.  Once you change something it overwrites the original entry.
