How to amend Form 8949 Part I info after my return has been accepted? Coinbase cryptocurrency gain/loss info was wrong and I’ve overstated my S/T losses.

I filed as an individual & info reported on Form 8949 flowed to Schedule D, so at least 2 forms are incorrect. I tried to amend using TT but i made a bigger mess and cancelled the amendment online.

to amend, you must prepare a correct tax return.

The correct tax return will include correct form(s) 8949 and a Schedule D that reflects that.

Send the corrected forms with your form 1040X

Do not include your old 1040 nor your revised 1040 because the Form 1040X reflects any changes there and becomes your new tax return.
