How long it takes for state to take my payment from my checking account

My payment to fed and state are both scheduled on 5 days ago. Fed was charged on that day but don't know why the state is still not showing on my bank balance. If it is not paid today, will I get penalized for late payment?

That's not at all unusual in a normal tax year, but with this year's coronavirus slowdown and all the nuttiness, things are taking even longer than usual!

You won't get penalized as long as you filed/scheduled payment before the deadline, even if they don't actually withdraw the money until later. (They'll see the timestamp on your filing and will go with that date, so you should be fine).
