The IRS  says 9 out of 10 filers who efile and choose direct deposit will get their refunds within 21 days.

If it's been at least 24 hours since your efile was accepted, you can monitor the status of your Federal refund at this IRS page below.
http://www.irs.gov/Refunds

NOTE:  If you chose to pay any TurboTax fees out of your Federal refundI, that is another link in the chain, since your funds go first from the IRS to an intermediary bank where the fees are subtracted.  Then that intermediary bank sends the rest of the funds to your bank in a second direct deposit.

Also, if you have EIC (earned income credit, aka EITC) or ACTC (additional child tax credit), the IRS will start processing them on Jan. 29, but will not start releasing those refunds until February 15.  That means people with those types of credits may not start receiving their refunds until around February 27.

EVERYONE ALREADY KNOWS THE 21-DAY SPIEL!!!!
They are not looking for someone to parrot back to them the same exact information you can find in every single tax-related direction you look!!!!
Enough with the copy+paste+post bs, seriously!!! Let’s first allow a chance for replying to those with personal experience from the current tax year; THAT is the information we are looking to find, a way to accurately come up with an ACTUAL AVERAGE!!! Not the irritating and insistent 21-day crap that has been falling out of tax reps mouths for many years now and while it’s not necessarily obsolete, it’s not been an accurate guide or served as a realistic application for several years I now.
Our best bet would be hearing from those who have already completed their returns and have already received/paid off the resulting balances. THEY are who we want to hear from, NOT the IRS policy book.
So irritating!

The answer above from February 3 was for the threadowner, whose question didn't mention only wanting anecdotes from other users.   But other users could have added on here, too, just like you did.

You said it was irritating to see an answer you already knew, but it shouldn't be, since the solution is so simple.  You can simply start "your" own new thread at the link below, and then YOU will be the threadowner.   You can request that only other users post in it, and collect all the anecdotes you want.  I don't see that you have started one, at least not under that screen name.    You can start your thread at this link below and start gathering data:

<a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/new">https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/new</a>

The first box is for the question title and is limited to 170 characters, but there is a box lower in the form where you can add more details.

If you only want other filers to post in your thread then so state that request in the question/title of the thread that you start, and I suspect that other forum helpers will stay out of  it.

epo39b-

I apologize for the passive aggressive comment there and admit it was unnecessary. It’s just so difficult to find information beyond the typical IRS lip service- seemingly  impossible to find any other response besides those same repetitive and carefully  crafted cookie-cutter IRS allowances!

I did not realize- and it’s on me I know- that there was any disconnect between public and admin replies, or that the option exists to exclude a particular party from responding. I get that any representative must be severely limited in his/her replies- it’s crucial to those who stand behind them to stick to the script, just as it is with any company providing a service

So again my apologies for making an arse of myself by just immediately reacting rather than taking the time to leave a somewhat intelligent and informed comment. I believe this post was at least the 20th in a long line of previous searches wherein every single answer was the exact same, verbatim...peaking my frustration and thus becoming the preceding catalyst for my little tantrum. I’m not qualifying my comment, just explaining how it came to be!

Thanks for your patience in your reply to me as well...it can be difficult to bite ones tongue in certain scenarios, especially when I’m sure you have to deal with many more than just a couple angry people every day.

Hats off to you

I filed on Feb 18th (President's Day, no less) and I just checked my status. My federal refund should hit my bank tomorrow, the 26th. No state tax in Texas.
