How long does it take IRS to issue a return once it begins processing?

Usually within 21 calendar days after the e-filed return has been accepted.

Also if you filed in January and early February, and claimed an Earned Income Tax Credit and/or an Additional Child Tax Credit, the soonest you will get your refund is the last week of February.
